Description For Analog Layout Engineer

Apple Silicon Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking experienced Analog Layout Engineers to work on next-generation systems-on-chip (SOCs) that power iPhones and iPads. This role focuses on Analog/Mixed-Signal (AMS) circuits, including SerDes for data communication, PLLs for clock generation, and various sensors.

The position involves transforming sophisticated design concepts into silicon reality, working at the cutting edge of semiconductor technology. You'll be part of a dynamic team crafting custom analog designs that optimize the performance of Apple's world-class products. The role demands expertise in deep submicron CMOS circuits and FinFET technologies, with responsibilities spanning from detailed layout design to system-level integration.

Responsibilities For Analog Layout Engineer

  • Deliver Analog Mixed-Signal IP in an SOC flow
  • Craft sophisticated layout for mixed signal and analog circuits
  • Review and analyze floorplans and intricate circuits
  • Run design verification tools on AMS blocks
  • Work with circuit design engineers to plan/schedule work
  • Interpret LVS, DRC and ERC reports
  • Apply CAD tools and mask design knowledge
  • Collaborate with teams to develop world-leading SOCs

Requirements For Analog Layout Engineer

Python
  • B.S. and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience or equivalent
  • 10+ years in analog/mixed-signal layout design of deep submicron CMOS circuits
  • 3+ years experience in FinFET technologies
  • Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso's advanced features
  • Programming/scripting knowledge in SKILL, Perl, TCL, Shell and/or Python
  • Experience with analog and DFM standard methodologies
  • Technical understanding of IR drop, RC delay, electro-migration, self-heating, and coupling capacitance
  • Excellent communication skills
