Description For ASIC Design Engineer - Neural Engine DMA

Apple's Hardware Technologies group is seeking an ASIC Design Engineer to join their Neural Engine DMA team. This role focuses on designing next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chips (SoCs) that power Apple's innovative devices. As part of the Pixel IP DMA team, you'll work on critical components that accelerate machine learning applications, specifically focusing on the data movement between memory subsystems and the Apple Neural Engine Core.

Responsibilities For ASIC Design Engineer - Neural Engine DMA

  • Coding high-quality RTL, with embedded assertions and cover points
  • Writing detailed micro-architectural specifications
  • Collaborating with multi-functional teams to explore solutions that enhance performance while minimizing power and area
  • Working closely with design verification and formal verification teams to debug and verify functionality and performance
  • Build commitment and low power DMA engines
  • Coordinate moving large amounts of data between the memory subsystem and the Apple Neural Engine Core (ANE)

Requirements For ASIC Design Engineer - Neural Engine DMA

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of front-end ASIC RTL digital logic design using Verilog or System Verilog
  • Strong problems-solving skills using finite state machines, pipelining, parallelism, and computer-architecture fundamentals
  • Knowledge of front-end implementation tasks
  • Good collaboration skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of core DMA concepts
  • Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols
