Apple is seeking a Baseband Hardware Design Engineer to join their Hardware Technology group in a role that stands at the intersection of innovation and technical excellence. The role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in electrical engineering and digital design, who will be responsible for shaping the next generation of Apple's wireless chipsets. Working in one of the most diverse technical roles at Apple, you'll collaborate with world-class architects and IC designers on next-generation chipset's Power/Digital/Clock management, from concept to product announcement.

Your responsibilities will span the entire product development lifecycle, from architectural planning to final implementation. You'll drive schematics and layout design, manage hardware bring-up, and tackle complex HW/SW co-existence challenges that emerge at Apple's unprecedented scale of production. Responsibilities For Baseband Hardware Design Engineer

  • Architecture, design, implementation, and integration of baseband system for Apple products
  • Work with architects and IC designers on next-gen chipset's Power/Digital/Clock management
  • Drive schematics/layout/bring-up of development and form factor HW
  • Debug HW/SW/Co-existence issues
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other teams (Apple SoC, battery, sensors, iOS, etc)

Requirements For Baseband Hardware Design Engineer

Linux
  • BSEE and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with schematic capture, layout design and review
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with voltage regulators, LDO, switch mode power supplies (SMPS)
  • Experience with high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces
  • Bench-level design verification experience with high-speed oscilloscopes
  • Signal/Power integrity simulation experience
  • Position may require some international travel
