Description For Camera and ISP Firmware Engineer

Apple's Camera/ISP Firmware team is seeking an experienced engineer to join their world-class team developing cutting-edge camera and image signal processing technologies. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on core camera technologies for iOS devices and the innovative Vision Pro product family.

As a Camera and ISP Firmware Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art image processing solutions, working with Apple's custom-designed Image signal processing pipeline and hardware components. Your work will directly impact how Apple develops, tests, and manufactures its products, particularly in the camera and imaging space.

The position involves deep technical work with image sensors, peripheral devices, and advanced image processing pipelines. You'll be responsible for developing device drivers for various camera components, including image sensors, voice-coil motors, lens actuators, and power management units. The role requires expertise in embedded systems programming, particularly with RTOS environments and low-level device drivers.

Responsibilities For Camera and ISP Firmware Engineer

  • Design and develop features for image sensor, peripheral devices, and latest image processing pipeline on Apple products
  • Control camera peripherals such as image sensors, voice-coil motors, lens actuators, LED strobes and power management units
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sensor Hardware, Silicon Design, Machine Learning Algorithm teams
  • Work on core camera/ISP/Camera peripheral technologies
  • Work on iOS and VisionPro product family

Requirements For Camera and ISP Firmware Engineer

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in programming, debugging, and designing within multi-threaded RTOS environments
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming
  • Experience developing software for device drivers, including image sensors, I2C, SPI, GPIOs, MIPI, and DMA controllers
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality production-level software
