Description For Camera Calibration and Test Engineer

Apple's Camera Technologies group is seeking a Camera Calibration and Test Engineer to join their innovative team. This role is crucial in maintaining product quality across Apple's entire camera-equipped product line, including iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Mac Displays, and Apple Vision Pro. The position combines technical expertise with management responsibilities, overseeing test maturity preparation and collaboration with Module Integrators (MIs).

The ideal candidate will work across various technical areas including CMOS image sensor testing, high-speed data link signal integrity, VCM actuation, lens quality, and position sensor calibration. They will be responsible for managing and implementing test coverage for critical components like SFR test, VCM and OIS calibration, electrical noise, color calibrations, and distortion calibration.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge camera technology while making a direct impact on Apple's product quality. The position requires travel to Asia for approximately 2-week periods, working directly with manufacturing partners. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple teams across Apple, including position sensing, image sensor, mechanical design, EE, and OPS teams.

Responsibilities For Camera Calibration and Test Engineer

  • Manage camera calibration and test coverage at module integrators and VCM vendors
  • Oversee test maturity preparation and set priorities for MIs
  • Validate and approve test software and hardware
  • Participate in post-build FACA activities
  • Implement improvements in tester UPH, retest rates, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with multi-functional groups at Apple
  • Design and implement cost-effective test hardware and software solutions
  • Travel to MIs in Asia when needed

Requirements For Camera Calibration and Test Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Color Science, Imaging Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge in reviewing mechanical and electrical designs
  • Proficiency in managing vendor teams
  • Experience in hosting cross-time zone meetings
  • Ability to review and modify source codes in MATLAB/Python
  • Data analysis knowledge and experience
