This role involves designing and developing innovative technology for camera systems in Apple products, from sensor to lens. The engineer will support Factory test, R&D, and validation teams by designing and building reliable, high-precision fixtures and jigs for testing and data collection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and evaluating fixtures for manufacturing camera modules and test labs
- Identifying product requirements and contributing to research and project planning
- Designing camera testing hardware and working closely with vendors
- Leading and managing projects, reviewing supplier tool designs
- Developing test tools and providing recommendations to improve process flow
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience
- Experience in 3D CAD design software, troubleshooting failures, GD&T principles, and tolerance analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with prototyping solutions and optical production-level testing fixtures
- Understanding of thermal management solutions and automation in high-volume production
