Camera Image Quality Engineer

As a Camera Image Quality Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for understanding image quality performance metrics and developing robust automation frameworks for measuring performance results in lab environments. You'll also handle real-world camera image quality verification, find algorithm bugs, and perform initial analysis and triaging. Working directly with the development team, you'll design test strategies for video features on camera products. You'll actively participate in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms through experimental studies in both lab and field settings, providing direct feedback to engineering teams. You'll summarize findings and present to cross-functional teams, including executive demos. This role is critical in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, where you'll significantly impact image quality while thriving in a high-energy, time-constrained, multitasking setting.

Key responsibilities include:

Required qualifications:

• MS in Image Science, Color Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
• 3 years of image quality experience
• Strong knowledge of subjective/objective image quality evaluation
• Strong knowledge of ISP pipeline and 3A evaluation
• Experience in lab testing and real-world testing environments
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong image/video photography skills
• Proficiency in C/C++
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally

This role offers a competitive base pay range of $136,300 to $248,700, along with additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and educational reimbursement opportunities.
