Apple, the technology giant behind the world's most popular camera - the iPhone, is seeking a Camera Tuning Engineer to join their Camera & Photos team. This role sits at the intersection of photography, computer vision, and machine learning, focusing on delivering exceptional camera experiences to millions of users worldwide.

The position requires a deep understanding of image processing algorithms and ISP components, combined with a passion for photography and user experience. You'll be working on groundbreaking features like Deep Fusion, HDR, and Portrait Mode, which showcase the seamless integration of Apple's hardware and software capabilities.

As a Camera Tuning Engineer, you'll be responsible for fine-tuning image quality algorithms for iOS cameras, ensuring they meet Apple's high standards for excellence. The role involves conducting experimental studies, providing engineering feedback, and contributing to the development of new features that push the boundaries of mobile photography.

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of experience in image quality testing or algorithm engineering, with expertise in ISP 3A, de-noising, fusion, and tone-mapping algorithms. Knowledge of iOS/macOS development and consumer device cameras is highly valued, as is an understanding of human vision and psychophysics.

Responsibilities For Camera Tuning Engineer

  • Responsible for image quality tuning of iOS cameras algorithms
  • Contribute to cutting edge technologies like Deep fusion, HDR, Portrait mode, and various algorithm development
  • Participate in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms through experimental studies
  • Provide direct feedback to engineering teams
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Requirements For Camera Tuning Engineer

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an image quality testing, tuning or image processing algorithms engineer
  • Understanding and hands-on experience of ISP 3A, de-noising, fusion, tone-mapping algorithms
  • Experience with iOS / macOS app development is a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Color Science or equivalent experience
