Description For Computer Vision Architect

The Video Computer Vision organization at Apple is seeking a Computer Vision Architect to join their team. This role sits within Video Engineering, a centralized applied research and engineering organization responsible for developing real-time on-device Computer Vision and Machine Perception technologies across Apple products. The Architecture team brings together multiple computer vision algorithm and AI/ML teams to drive innovative programs across Apple's product line.

As a Computer Vision Architect, you'll be at the intersection of research and product development, working to deliver Apple-quality, state-of-the-art experiences. You'll collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Machine Learning teams to influence the sensor and silicon roadmap that brings their vision to life. The role requires not just technical excellence but also strong collaborative skills, as you'll be communicating with experts across many different domains.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in shipping computer vision algorithms, deep knowledge of perception sensing technologies, and experience in hardware optimization. With a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, you'll be expected to drive large cross-functional efforts and present results to Apple's highest leadership levels.

This position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $252,400 to $378,700, plus opportunities for equity through Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Requirements For Computer Vision Architect

  • Proven track record of shipping algorithms in SLAM, calibration, scene understanding, gaze tracking, human representation, or activity recognition
  • Knowledge of perception sensing technologies including color and monochrome cameras, depth sensors, and IMUs
  • Proven track record of optimizing hardware of computer vision sub system for at least one algorithm
  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
