Description For Connectivity RF Hardware and System Design Engineer

Apple's Wireless Hardware group is seeking a passionate Connectivity RF Hardware and System Design Engineer to join their world-class team. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking wireless connectivity technologies that power Apple's iconic product line, including iPhone, iPad, Home, Watch, AirPods, and more.

As a RF Hardware Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing next-generation wireless radio solutions, working with technologies including WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, GPS, and emerging technologies. You'll be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through product introduction, serving as a directly responsible individual (DRI) for your technology area.

The role involves sophisticated technical work including front-end architecture design, component specification, RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling, and system feature development such as digital pre-distortion and VSWR sensing. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including antenna design, product design, production test, regulatory, reliability, and software engineering.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $143,100 to $264,200, plus additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, and educational support. You'll be working in Sunnyvale, California, as part of Apple's renowned hardware engineering team, with opportunities for international travel (15%) to support product development.

Responsibilities For Connectivity RF Hardware and System Design Engineer

  • Design and integrate multiple wireless technologies into new Apple products
  • Own technology from concept through product introduction
  • Drive bring up, development and characterization of system features
  • Work on front-end architecture and component specification
  • Build and design RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling
  • Perform characterization, design optimization and failure analysis
  • Work with cross-functional engineering groups
  • International travel to support product development (15%)

Requirements For Connectivity RF Hardware and System Design Engineer

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with RF focus and 3+ years of industry experience
  • Good understanding of RF Fundamentals, Radio architectures, RF component and circuit integration in to consumer products
  • Experience in one or more connectivity wireless system like WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB or NFC
  • Experience with at least one RF simulation tool such as HFSS, ADS, Matlab or SystemVue
  • Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral
