Apple is seeking a strong candidate to join their processor verification team, focusing on DFT (Design for Testability) verification. This highly visible role puts you at the center of chip design efforts, collaborating with various subject areas and having a critical impact on delivering functional products to millions of customers quickly.
As a DFT Verification Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with architecture, RTL designers, and DFT designers to verify the functionality of DFT logic
- Executing test plans for DFT logic
- Developing testbenches and tests according to plans
- Debugging simulation failures
- Developing coverage monitors and analyzing coverage to ensure comprehensive test case coverage
- Creating Verilog checkers or assertions for design verification
- Working with the silicon bringup team to develop tests that aid in silicon bring-up efforts
The ideal candidate should have:
- A minimum of a BS degree (Master's preferred)
- Strong knowledge of computer architecture and digital design, including Verilog
- Understanding of DFT and structural debug concepts (JTAG, MBIST, scan)
- Proficiency in programming and scripting (Python, Perl, or TCL)
- Experience or academic knowledge in design verification methodology
- Good understanding of CPU architecture (a plus)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex design issues
- Capability to work independently and follow detailed schedules
