Description For CPU MicroArchitect / RTL Engineer - Site Lead

Apple's Silicon Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking an experienced technical leader and manager to drive microarchitecture and RTL development for their high-performance, low-power microprocessors. This role offers an opportunity to lead CPU RTL team development at a growing site, working on processors that power innovative products like iPhone, iPad, Watch, Vision Pro, and Mac.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in microprocessor architecture, particularly in areas such as instruction fetch and decode, branch prediction, out-of-order execution, and cache systems. They will lead a team of senior engineers while making direct technical contributions to complex microarchitecture definition and RTL development.

This position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring strong skills in Verilog/VHDL, simulation tools, and logic design. The role involves working with cutting-edge technology, driving innovation in processor design, and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities For CPU MicroArchitect / RTL Engineer - Site Lead

  • Microarchitecture development and specification - from early high-level architectural exploration through micro architectural research
  • RTL ownership – development, assessment and refinement of RTL design to target power, performance, area and timing goals
  • Validation - support test bench development and simulation for functional and performance verification
  • Performance exploration and correlation - explore high performance strategies and validate RTL design meets targeted performance
  • Design delivery - work with multifunctional engineering team to implement and validate physical design

Requirements For CPU MicroArchitect / RTL Engineer - Site Lead

Python
  • BS degree and 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture
  • Knowledge of Verilog and/or VHDL
  • Experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools
  • Knowledge of logic design principles along with timing and power implications
