Description For Custom Silicon Management Engineering Program Manager

Apple is seeking a Custom Silicon Management Engineering Program Manager to join their Hardware team. This role is crucial in ensuring that 3rd-party developed analog/mixed-signal Custom Silicon designs meet Apple's technical, quality, and schedule requirements. The position involves representing Apple with custom silicon vendors worldwide and driving the complete Silicon development lifecycle.

The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and program management skills to oversee silicon program schedules and resolve technical challenges. You'll be responsible for managing the entire process from initial concept through mass production, including vendor selection, implementation, validation, and qualification. Success in this position demands strong leadership abilities and the capability to forge strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Working within the Engineering Program Management team, you'll lead technical issue resolution and drive internal processes to ensure high-quality Silicon definition and timely execution. The role involves coordinating with multi-functional teams across various disciplines, including Design, Modeling, Embedded Firmware, Verification, Validation, Process Technology, and more.

This is an opportunity to directly impact Apple's groundbreaking products by ensuring the delivery of high-quality custom silicon components. The position requires approximately 10% international travel and offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology while managing relationships with global vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Custom Silicon Management Engineering Program Manager

  • Drive silicon issues to closure leading multi-functional teams internally and externally
  • Focus design teams on meeting commitments and unblocking technical issues
  • Drive technical sessions with suppliers to supervise and follow up on issues
  • Manage issue reporting, bug tracking, and communication of program risks and status
  • Drive the full Silicon development cycle from initial concept through mass production

Requirements For Custom Silicon Management Engineering Program Manager

  • BS + 10 years of relevant experience
  • SoC Design Flow experience
  • Engineering experience with analog, digital, and/or mixed Signal design flow
  • Ability to travel internationally (approximately 10% of the time)
  • MS + 5 years of technical Program or Project Management experience (preferred)
  • Experience with vendor relationships
  • Understanding of hardware and software integration challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
