Description For Data Center West Region Construction Manager

Apple is seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to oversee the development of their innovative and energy-efficient data centers in the US west region. This role is based in Mesa, AZ, and will support data center campuses across OR, NV, & AZ. The position requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience in data center construction management, who can effectively coordinate with multiple teams including real estate, legal, design, EH&S, energy, construction, network, and operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Construction Management or Engineering Degree and demonstrate strong leadership abilities in managing complex projects. They will be responsible for handling equipment upgrades in live data center environments while simultaneously managing new construction efforts. The role demands excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Responsibilities For Data Center West Region Construction Manager

  • Lead and support architects, engineers, and specialty consultants from programming to construction completion
  • Handle all aspects of development for innovative and energy efficient data centers
  • Coordinate with project partners from real estate, legal, design, EH&S, energy, construction, network, and operations teams
  • Lead multiple projects including equipment upgrades in live data center environments
  • Provide input on design and constructability
  • Build and maintain project budgets
  • Review proposals and change order requests
  • Manage commissioning agents and review sequence of operations

Requirements For Data Center West Region Construction Manager

Linux
  • 12+ years demonstrated ability as a data center (or similar) construction project manager
  • Construction Management or Engineering Degree
  • Strong background in data center/commercial/industrial construction
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, process piping, plumbing building systems
  • Demonstrated success in employee development and mentoring
