We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer who is passionate about operational excellence through automation and engineering processes. As a DevOps Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of development and operations processes, to deliver best in class and highly available systems.
The AOS team is responsible for delivering the e-commerce systems and solutions that enable and support the buying experience on apple.com. We build one of the slickest e-commerce sites on the planet while keeping the Apple brand at the forefront in every aspect of engineering. Our solutions are designed for global reach while keeping regional nuances in mind.
Main responsibilities include:
- Analyze technology options/feasibility and define build, delivery, and deployment pipeline for applications
- Provide leadership in implementing a secure, robust, and high availability DevOps pipeline
- Automate build & deployment processes
- Work closely with engineers, QA, project managers throughout the software lifecycle
- Implement push-button deployment at scale with zero downtime

Responsibilities For DevOps Eng - Retail Engineering
- Analyze technology options/feasibility and define build, delivery, and deployment pipeline for applications
- Provide leadership in implementing a secure, robust, and high availability DevOps pipeline
- Automate build & deployment processes
- Work closely with engineers, QA, project managers throughout the software lifecycle
- Implement push-button deployment at scale with zero downtime
- Develop tools and applications to automate work rather than do things manually
Requirements For DevOps Eng - Retail Engineering
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent field
- 3+ years of experience
- Good oral/written communication skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Highly skilled at developing and debugging in Java, GoLang and Python
- Experience with cloud concepts and hands-on experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Working knowledge of containerization (Docker) and supporting technologies
- Experience in source control management such as Git, Github
- Experience with orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Splunk for investigating or monitoring problems on systems
- Familiarity with Linux operating system internals, filesystems, network
- Ability to use and build web applications using REST, JSON, or similar protocols
- Working knowledge of CVEs, OWASP and cloud security/compliance
- Experience maintaining automated build systems such as Jenkins
- Experience maintaining large clusters using configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)
- Knowledge of web servers and load balancers (Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, Envoy)
- Experience working with server clusters of 100s-1000s of machines, and deploying changes with zero downtime
