Apple is seeking a Display Module Engineer to architect, develop, and ship flat panel displays for the Apple Watch. This role involves advancing display modules from fundamental device physics/material level to system-level integration and software definition. The engineer will be the focal point for all display matters, collaborating with various teams including system, software, display and touch domain authorities, operations, quality, and supply chain partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a multi-functional team to set goals and priorities throughout the product development process
  • Owning the display module master specification from pre-concept to mass production
  • Conducting hands-on lab work to test and characterize display performance
  • Troubleshooting issues with display quality
  • Traveling to international sites to support builds at component, module, and system factories
  • Leading supply chain partnerships and pushing technology forward
  • Scouting and evaluating materials, processes, architecture, and technology from current and potential suppliers
  • Communicating across the company to gain support from key Apple leaders

Requirements For Display Module Engineer - Apple Watch

Python
  • BS and three years of experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science, or Materials Science
  • Technical experience in optical design and characterization, optical and/or human visual physics, semiconductor optoelectronics, display technologies, optical sensor technologies
  • Experience in benchtop and industry standard optical measurement systems
  • Experience using programming languages for data acquisition (e.g. Python, LabVIEW)
  • Experience using statistical analysis (e.g. JMP, MATLAB) and/or optical simulation tools (e.g. LightTools)
