Description For Display Silicon Architect

Apple is seeking a Display Silicon Architect to lead the development of custom ICs for future Apple VR displays. This highly visible role involves defining display silicon architecture & requirements, collaborating with external vendors and internal design teams throughout silicon development phases, validating functionality & performance, and qualifying ICs for mass production.

The role demands expertise in display silicon and system architecture, with responsibilities spanning all aspects of display silicon design. You'll be architecting display silicon and sub-systems, establishing critical design rules, providing analytical support, authoring engineering specifications, and managing silicon and system level risk assessments.

As a key technical leader, you'll work closely with silicon teams on simulation and validation, while defining the roadmap for next-generation display silicon and display subsystems. Responsibilities For Display Silicon Architect

  • Architecting the display silicon and display sub-system
  • Establishing display driver IC critical blocks design rules and guidelines
  • Providing analysis to drive design rules and guidelines
  • Authoring display silicon engineering requirements specification
  • Working with the silicon teams to perform and review simulation
  • Defining the roadmap for the next generation display silicon and display subsystem
  • Managing silicon and system level risk and performance tradeoff

Requirements For Display Silicon Architect

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in IC design & architecture experience
  • Experience leading chip design and integration
  • Experience with analog, digital & IC design fundamentals
  • Master's or PhD. in related field preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with analog IC design or digital IC design
  • Experience in display silicon and system
  • Experience in developing and manufacturing high volume products
  • Knowledge in electronic displays, image quality, or graphics subsystem
