Embedded Audio DSP Firmware Engineer

Apple's Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) org in SWE is seeking a highly motivated Embedded Audio DSP Firmware Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in developing software for novel audio features on proprietary high-performance embedded processors and optimizing system performance for audio quality and battery life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, implementing, and optimizing signal processing algorithms on programmable hardware
• Writing unit tests and integration tests for comprehensive software validation
• Cross-functional collaboration with acoustics experts, algorithm engineers, DSP software engineers, audio driver developers, and hardware engineers
• Integrating features into real-time audio subsystems and solving audio fidelity and performance issues

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in digital audio
• Deep understanding of DSP fundamentals, especially in audio (speech enhancement, noise cancellation/reduction, media processing, sample rate conversion)
• Excellent C/C++ coding skills
• Experience in realizing audio/DSP/real-time features and applications
• Experience with development and debug of audio issues on hardware platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)

Preferred qualifications include excellent Python skills and experience with audio test and measurement equipment and methodologies.
