Description For Embedded QA Engineer - Camera

Apple is seeking an experienced and outcome-driven Embedded Quality Engineer to ensure the delivery of best-in-class camera solutions for iOS products. The role involves working closely with the software development team to build and implement test plans focused on qualifying camera firmware and drivers. The ideal candidate should have experience with large-volume consumer products and be passionate about testing firmware/drivers for image processing pipelines and machine learning neural engines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Independently driving and owning testing of camera features across platforms
  • Designing test cases and implementing test plans for functionality, performance, power, stability, and image quality
  • Automating test cases and developing test tools on mobile platforms
  • Partnering with development teams to triage, diagnose, and debug issues
  • Identifying trends and highlighting potential risks

Requirements:

  • BS degree and minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years of QA experience testing embedded system products
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
  • Experience in developing automated tests for embedded systems or mobile devices
  • Understanding of camera technologies, image signal processing pipelines, 3A, video formats, and color space

Preferred qualifications include strong skills in developing system and feature-level test plans, familiarity with command-line operations in macOS or Unix/Linux, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
