Description For Embedded SW Engineer

Join Apple's Silicon Engineering Group as an Embedded Software Engineer working on critical DRAM technologies that power all Apple devices. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within the Silicon Technologies group, where you'll be responsible for ensuring the DRAM components in Apple products are functioning optimally and have long-lasting performance.

The position is perfect for both junior developers with strong C programming skills willing to learn DRAM technologies, and experienced engineers with DRAM expertise. You'll become a software domain expert in DRAM bringup, including initialization and calibration, while developing various characterization tools used company-wide. The role provides extensive cross-functional exposure, working with Chip Design, Design Validation, Silicon Validation, CoreOS iBoot, and silicon Test Engineering teams.

Your work will have a direct impact on every Apple product featuring an SoC, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Silicon Macs. Apple leads the DRAM technology industry by pushing specifications beyond JEDEC standards. While primarily a software role, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge of DRAM interfaces, characterization, and debugging techniques. You'll develop expertise in identifying issues across multiple domains - from software and manufacturing to physical design flaws and compiler bugs.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $143,100 to $264,200, comprehensive benefits including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and various stock programs. You'll be part of a team that drives innovation in silicon technologies while working on products used by millions worldwide. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, strong C programming skills, and embedded software development background.
