Description For Engineering Project Manager, Acoustics

Apple's Acoustics Engineering team is seeking a Project Manager to lead the development of audio hardware and technologies for flagship products including AirPods, iPad, iPhone, and MacBook. This role combines technical expertise with project management, overseeing internal Acoustics Hardware, Algorithms, User Interface, and Validation teams while coordinating with cross-functional partners. The position requires managing pre-production builds, driving development schedules, and ensuring optimal acoustic performance throughout product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in engineering, particularly in acoustics, combined with proven project management experience. Responsibilities For Engineering Project Manager, Acoustics

  • Define and drive build and development plans for audio HW and SW
  • Serve as primary interface to Apple Acoustics during HW and SW development
  • Manage and communicate project definition, development landmarks and schedules
  • Work with Acoustic, Hardware, Software, and Mechanical Design teams
  • Drive pre-production builds and mass production preparation
  • Facilitate risk management and communicate status to development team and executives
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with hardware and software engineering partners

Requirements For Engineering Project Manager, Acoustics

  • BS degree ME/Physics/EE required
  • 3-5 years project management experience
  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, acoustics, and/or software development
  • Excellent listening, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong cross functional coordination and project management skills
