This role combines technical expertise with project management skills to drive the engineering development of watch bands. The role involves managing product engineering design, development planning, and validation cycles. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and design, coordinating with various teams and vendor partners to achieve aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals. The position demands someone who can handle complex technical decisions while maintaining clear communication across multiple stakeholders.
As an EPM, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining project schedules, managing risk mitigation, and ensuring efficient development processes. Responsibilities For Engineering Project Manager, Apple Watch, Band Design
- Create and maintain streamlined development processes
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, industrial design, and vendor partners
- Drive technical issue resolution and complex design trade-offs
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules
- Manage system-level part interactions and reliability testing
- Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds
- Facilitate communication and decision-making across teams
Requirements For Engineering Project Manager, Apple Watch, Band Design
- BS engineering degree required
- 2-6+ years of project management experience
- Detailed knowledge of product development cycles
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience interfacing with Mechanical Engineering/Design, Operations, and Vendors
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel internationally to support builds (up to 20%)
