Description For Engineering Project Manager, Build & Release

Apple's Apps team is seeking an exceptional Build and Release Engineering Project Manager to lead application builds and releases across Apple platforms. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at one of the world's most innovative technology companies, managing sophisticated development pipelines and ensuring successful software delivery.

The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in build and release management, combining technical expertise with project management skills. You'll be working with cutting-edge development tools and processes, including Xcode, GitHub, and Jenkins, while collaborating with multiple teams across Engineering, QA, Build, Integration, and App Store departments.

As the Build and Release EPM, you'll be responsible for defining and implementing scalable policies for successful builds and releases, managing configuration requirements throughout the software development lifecycle, and ensuring smooth delivery of Apple applications. Your role will be crucial in managing risk during release phases and maintaining effective communication across various teams.

  • Define and enforce scalable policies for successful builds and releases
  • Manage build configuration requirements throughout software development lifecycle

  • Track software changes from PR to successful build
  • Work with QA to ensure proper testing and sign-off
  • Resolve build and release issues while communicating timeline

Requirements For Engineering Project Manager, Build & Release

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience managing build and release process
  • Understanding of branching, configuration management, testing, build and release processes
  • Technical understanding of development tools, source control, and CI build systems
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of defining and completing processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional organization
