Description For Engineering Project Manager, Enterprise Systems

Apple's Information Systems and Technology group is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join their Global Business Intelligence (GBI) organization. This role is integral to managing Apple's enterprise data warehouse, which handles petabytes of data and processes billions of rows to provide crucial business insights. The GBI team leverages diverse technology stacks including Snowflake, HANA, and SingleStore to deliver data analytics, ML, and data science solutions to various Apple business groups.

As an Engineering Project Manager, you'll be responsible for driving large-scale, cross-functional projects that are critical to important business initiatives. You'll lead all aspects of the software development life cycle, from defining and scheduling to prioritizing and tracking progress. The role requires exceptional leadership skills to coordinate across multiple teams and technology stack layers, while facilitating requirements gathering and design reviews with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Engineering Project Manager, Enterprise Systems

  • Drive project management for large, cross-functional initiatives
  • Lead all aspects of SDLC efforts: define, schedule, prioritize, track, measure and communicate status
  • Lead efforts across teams representing multiple layers of the technology stack
  • Facilitate requirements brainstorming and design review sessions
  • Identify and mitigate risks, remove road blocks
  • Maintain roadmap, provide oversight on resource capacity and funding at portfolio level
  • Roll out project framework and governance

Requirements For Engineering Project Manager, Enterprise Systems

  • Experience in various project methodologies including Waterfall, Change Management and Agile/Scrum
  • Aptitude to understand new technologies and dive into details
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, curious, proactive with demonstrated critical thinking capability
  • Good listening/comprehension, verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of hands-on engineering project management experience in Business Intelligence/Data Engineering/Analytics areas
