Apple's Wireless Connectivity Silicon Team is seeking a talented Firmware Engineer to join their innovative team in developing cutting-edge wireless silicon solutions for various Apple products including iPhone and Mac. This role combines deep technical expertise in wireless communications with hands-on firmware development, requiring both creative problem-solving and disciplined engineering practices.

Responsibilities For Firmware Engineer

  • Design, development, and bringup of innovative wireless silicon
  • Develop methods/algorithms for hardware impairment reduction
  • PHY firmware architecture and design
  • Develop highly efficient designs optimizing performance and power
  • Debug real-time systems with development boards
  • Collaborate with Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams
  • Support pre-silicon validation efforts
  • Develop SoC test and calibration capabilities
  • Support post-silicon bringup and validation
  • Automate calibration and verification processes

Requirements For Firmware Engineer

Python
  • BS with 10+ years of industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with wireless systems and protocols (LTE/NR/WiFi/Bluetooth)
  • Strong embedded SW fundamentals
  • Deep understanding of data structures and system architecture
  • Strong software engineering skills in C, C++, Python
  • Experience with GIT, Perforce, continuous integration
  • Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces
  • Strong understanding of design strategies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized and motivated
