Description For GPU Energy Modeling and Analysis Engineer

Apple is seeking a GPU Energy Modeling and Analysis Engineer to join their Silicon Technologies group. This role involves developing micro-architectural level energy models for early power estimation, analyzing power consumption throughout the GPU, and driving power reduction techniques across the entire stack. The ideal candidate will work on developing tools for measurement, visualization, and analysis of GPU energy, as well as conduct studies to improve the architecture of next-generation GPUs to reduce power consumption.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing micro-architectural level energy models
  • Analyzing power consumption and identifying opportunities for energy reduction
  • Collaborating with various teams to reduce power consumption through software and hardware improvements
  • Creating tools for GPU energy measurement, visualization, and analysis
  • Conducting studies to improve GPU architecture for power efficiency

Required qualifications:

  • Strong computer architecture knowledge
  • Understanding of VLSI fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
  • Ability to work well in a team and be productive under aggressive schedules
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and organization

Experience with Tableau and/or Splunk is a plus but not required. The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience, making it suitable for entry-level candidates with the right skills and knowledge.
