Haptics Product Design Engineer

The Haptic Engineering team at Apple develops innovative haptic solutions central to products like iPhone and Apple Watch. They're seeking a Product Design / Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of next-generation haptic actuators and experiences. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for mechanical design and integration of haptic actuators from concept to production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Brainstorming concepts and solutions to haptic-related challenges
• Prototyping, evaluating, and debugging innovative ideas
• Designing and defining mechanical components and assembly schemes
• Generating detailed specifications and drawings
• Analyzing static and dynamic structures
• Developing new manufacturing and assembly processes with external vendors
• Validating and characterizing designs through multiple iterations
• Conducting failure analysis and design of experiments
• Generating new intellectual property

The role requires collaboration with multi-functional teams, including Industrial Design and system engineering groups. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience with 3D CAD and 2D drafting, and knowledge of electro-mechanics and dynamics. Experience in consumer electronics product design and haptic technologies is a plus.
