Description For Hardware Design Engineer

Apple's iPad Hardware organization is seeking an exceptional senior hardware design engineer to join their team working on next-generation Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) hardware, specifically focusing on Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard development. This role involves working within the Mac Hardware organization, particularly in SerDes I/O validation for Mac Platforms.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of Apple's innovative hardware development team, where you'll be involved in the complete product lifecycle from architecture to customer release. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated electrical systems, including power management, micro-controller integration, and wireless communication components.

As a Hardware Design Engineer, you'll work with cross-functional teams, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate with manufacturing partners worldwide. Responsibilities For Hardware Design Engineer

  • Design iPad accessories from architecture stage to release
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design of electrical systems
  • Execute design in high-volume, including characterization and validation
  • Author detailed engineering requirements specifications
  • Work with and lead suppliers/manufacturing partners including overseas build support
  • Present to cross-functional leaders for project reviews and discussions

Requirements For Hardware Design Engineer

  • Strong EE background in analog, digital, power and PCB design
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support
  • Successful track record of working closely with Mechanical Engineering, Firmware, PCB design, and DFM
  • Bachelors or higher degree, and 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or similar field
