Hardware Product Design Engineer - Mac Engineering

The Mac Product Design team at Apple is seeking a Hardware Product Design Engineer to join their innovative group. In this role, you will collaborate with industrial designers, product integrity, hardware, software, and technology groups to refine and execute on the design of the next generation of portable and desktop computers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing initial product layouts
• Generating concepts, prototyping, demonstrating, and testing to drive down-selection
• Partnering with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability
• Ensuring design meets requirements throughout its lifecycle by performing stress, tolerance, and failure analyses
• Traveling up to 20% in Asia to support factory builds

You will apply various skills on the job, including:

• Tolerance analysis
• Geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
• Design for assembly/manufacturability
• Designing for high volume manufacturing of injection molded, die cast, sheetmetal, and machined parts
• Metrology
• Simple fixture design
• Computer aided design
• Statistical process control

Apple offers a competitive compensation package, including a base pay range between $175,800 and $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
