Responsibilities For Hardware Reliability Engineer - Materials Reliability

  • Identify high risk failure modes at material level
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to reduce risk
  • Develop new stress conditions based on material physics and expected user behaviors
  • Implement necessary equipment and specifications for validating material performance
  • Assess product-facing reliability through stress test data
  • Support failure analysis
  • Provide design direction based on test data evaluation
  • Support vendor testing through travel and collaboration with global teams

Requirements For Hardware Reliability Engineer - Materials Reliability

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field (engineering, physics, etc.) with 3+ years of industry experience
  • Deep understanding of materials science including mechanical, electrical, and optical behavior of materials
  • Experience working in a lab environment with focus on understanding root cause of material failures
  • Experience with Failure Mode Effects Analysis and reliability prediction modeling
  • Expertise in materials characterization techniques (SEM/EDS, XPS, XRD, FIB, FTIR, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with metallurgical principals and techniques
  • Strong background in optically clear materials and coatings
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally without restriction
