Responsibilities For Hardware Systems Engineer

  • Design, develop, and characterize prototype hardware for proof-of-concept and demo systems
  • Investigate technologies' interaction with human body (electromagnetic, optical, acoustical, mechanical)
  • Architect and design multi-layer, high-density printed circuit boards
  • Build and test fully functional prototype systems
  • Support internal customers of circuit boards, firmware, software, and prototype systems
  • Design and 3D-print mechanical fixtures
  • Lead multiple projects and manage cross-functional dependencies
  • Produce and deliver demonstrations and documentation for senior executives
  • Implement firmware for inter-device communication using wired and wireless protocols
  • Travel domestically up to 10% of time

Requirements For Hardware Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (Electrical or Biomedical), Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience designing and building multi-layer, high-density printed circuit boards
  • Experience creating user interface programs
  • Experience with C/C++ for developing firmware for real-time embedded applications
  • Proficiency with Oscilloscope for testing, maintaining and debugging electrical prototype assemblies
  • Experience with soldering and rework tools
  • Ability to create prototype circuits
  • Experience modifying and extending printed circuit board hardware
  • Experience managing procurement of components, circuit boards, and modules
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software and 3D printing tools
