Description For Hardware Systems Integration Engineer - Apple Watch

Are you ready to work on Apple's most personal device? Join the Apple Watch systems hardware team as a Hardware Systems Integration Engineer. This role involves working on Apple Watch from concept to mass production, collaborating with various teams including silicon and architecture, mechanical engineers, software and firmware engineers, test group, and module teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • PCB and FPC design, and cross-functional system integration
  • Bench validation, electrical function verification, and signal characterization
  • Debug and failure analysis of manufacturing, component quality, reliability, and system coexistence issues
  • Factory build support from early NPI through product ramp
  • Early architecture handoff, technology concept investigations and prototyping

You'll use your electrical engineering skills to turn architecture concepts into reality for the next set of incredible products. This design engineering position requires significant cross-functional interactions and approximately 15% international travel.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant industry hardware experience
  • Strong EE fundamentals in areas such as system integration product design, processor selection, embedded communication protocols, signal integrity, power electronics, and sensor design
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout using Cadence tools, hardware bringup, and bench debug
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience in high-volume consumer electronics, expertise in sensitive sensor design and integration, creativity in problem-solving, and a strong sense of personal ownership.
