iPad Touch HW - Touch EE Engineer

The Sensor Technology team at Apple develops cutting-edge sensor solutions and technologies that are central to Apple's products. The key goal is to enable the world's best user-experience through state-of-the-art sensor solutions, such as high-precision, low-latency multi-touch and stylus sensors. The role involves sensor technology scoping, product definition, cross-functional collaboration, sensor & module design, end-to-end application definition, and overseeing complete module design and execution. Responsibilities include algorithm development, prototyping, integration, design optimization, failure mode analysis, and statistical data analysis. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, system-level design, and proficiency in simulation and modeling tools. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to solve complex problems in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sensor technology scoping and proof-of-concept investigations
• Support product definition, market surveys, and competitive analysis
• Cross-functional collaboration and leadership
• Sensor & module design and modeling
• End-to-end application definition and design
• Algorithm development for signal and noise conditioning
• Design optimization across multi-disciplinary boundaries
• Failure mode analysis and root cause diagnosis
• Statistical data analysis and data mining
• Design analysis, characterization, and validation

Qualifications:

• BS degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
• Strong logical thought process and analytical skills
• Electrical engineering background in analog and mixed-signal design
• Hands-on experience in system-level design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in FEA (Comsol, ANSYS, Maxwell), MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools
