Description For MacOS Content Production Engineer

Apple's Retail Technology Engineering team is seeking a MacOS Content Production Engineer to join their dynamic environment. This role is crucial in shaping the future of Apple Retail stores globally by streamlining and delivering Mac demo content worldwide. As part of the team, you'll work with various Apple organizations including Retail, Software Engineering, and IS&T to influence technical roadmaps and implement solutions that impact 500+ stores worldwide.

The position requires a blend of technical expertise in MacOS systems, device management, and software deployment. You'll be responsible for building and deploying demo content packages, creating automation scripts, and serving as a high-level technical escalation point. The role combines system administration, DevOps practices, and quality assurance to ensure seamless demo experiences in Apple stores.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is passionate about both MacOS technology and retail operations. You'll be working in Cupertino, contributing to Apple's renowned retail experience while collaborating with various teams across the organization. Responsibilities For MacOS Content Production Engineer

  • Build MacOS demo content packages for deployment to Retail stores
  • Create ad hoc scripts and develop extensible systems for content loading
  • Serve as Tier 3/4 escalation point for MacOS Digital Experience QA
  • Manage device provisioning via MDM/JAMF
  • Perform Apple operating system research and implement new technologies
  • Partner with security teams to ensure secure device configuration

Requirements For MacOS Content Production Engineer

Python
Linux
  • 7+ years of experience working on MacOS platform as a tooling engineer or system administrator
  • Extensive experience with Mobile Device Management frameworks (JAMF preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure seamless device provisioning and configuration
  • Expert knowledge of UNIX/LINUX environments and setup tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced Bash and Python
  • Understanding of integrated testing frameworks
  • Experience with QA and testing strategies
