Responsibilities For Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) - iPad

  • Planning, proposing, and leading experiments for process development
  • Assessing fabrication technology suitability for part designs
  • Reviewing supplier tool design, process flow, equipment selection, DFM, and DOE proposals
  • Acting as lead engineer for process development and capability assessment
  • Establishing validation procedures for tooling acceptance
  • Working with supplier engineering teams on process development
  • Reviewing progress of development activities at supplier locations
  • Assessing supplier readiness for build events and production ramp

Requirements For Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) - iPad

  • BS, MS or PhD in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred
  • Experience with mechanical fabricated parts or jigs, fixtures, tooling, injection molding, plastics, ceramics, machine shop (CNC, Mills, Lathes)
  • Deep understanding of DOE, GD&T, SPC or mechanical fabrication techniques
  • 5+ years experience supporting new product launches from mechanical tooling engineering or product development perspective
