Description For Materials Program Manager

Join Apple's Operations and Supply Chain team as a Materials Program Manager, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence. This position focuses on materials readiness, availability, and visibility within Apple's procurement organization. You'll work directly with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and internal teams, managing critical component planning, allocation strategies, and materials liability management.

The role involves overseeing the Clear-to-Build (CTB) process, which is vital for supply chain efficiency and revenue projections. You'll develop sophisticated models for supply chain optimization, create allocation strategies across factories and programs, and work closely with Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing teams to maximize revenue opportunities.

As a Materials Program Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying and mitigating material risks, developing strategic roadmaps for product lifecycle management, and maintaining executive-level communications. The position requires strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel and data visualization tools, along with excellent communication abilities to present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities For Materials Program Manager

  • Manage Clear-to-Build (CTB) process with suppliers and OEMs
  • Provide visibility to materials supply, highlighting projected coverage and constraints
  • Partner with CM to develop supply chain and materials flow models
  • Create allocation strategies for constrained materials
  • Challenge and influence Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing teams
  • Identify E & O and other material risk
  • Develop strategic roadmap for phase-out of obsolete parts and new product materials
  • Prepare and communicate critical Materials updates at weekly Executive Program reviews
  • Ensure logistical flow of materials to meet production schedules

Requirements For Materials Program Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 4+ years of professional experience
  • Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills
  • Advanced User of MS Excel with deep understanding of Excel techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and influence others through relationships and data
