This role focuses on developing cutting-edge modem platforms and wireless communication algorithms, with a particular emphasis on MIMO systems. You'll be working at the intersection of hardware and software, designing and implementing sophisticated physical layer algorithms that power Apple's next-generation wireless technologies.

Responsibilities For Modem Systems Engineer – 5G

  • Design and simulate state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication algorithms with emphasis on MIMO systems
  • Work closely with hardware, firmware, RF and other cross-functional teams to implement, verify and bring-up MIMO algorithms
  • Ensure that performance meets expectations
  • Work on next-generation algorithms and implementation per roadmap

Requirements For Modem Systems Engineer – 5G

  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems with emphasis on MIMO technology (5G LTE)
  • Ability to develop algorithms, assess performance, develop complexity-performance tradeoffs
  • Design and simulate state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication algorithms
  • Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations
  • Experience designing baseband algorithms for cellular modems
  • Conducting simulations in C/C++/MATLAB
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant experience
