Apple's Data Center Engineering team is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to join their innovative workforce in Prineville, Oregon. This role combines the challenges of data center operations with cutting-edge technology implementation, offering a unique opportunity to work with critical infrastructure systems.
As an OT Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Data Center Operating Technology systems while ensuring their seamless integration with enterprise IT systems. The role requires expertise in facility networks, cyber security, and various OT devices and protocols. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology including Schweitzer protective relays, Schneider Electric ION power meters, and various PLCs.
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of experience in data center facility networks and OT, with a strong background in cyber security and communications protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, BacNet, and Modbus. A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required, while experience with programming languages like Java, JavaScript, Python, and GoLang is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Operational Technology Engineer, Data Center
- Design of data center facility networks and OT, including system architectures and facilities network diagrams
- Development of OT device specifications, device selection, testing, approval and integration
- Coordinate with information security teams to implement Cyber Security measures for OT
- Design and maintain device universal data templates
- Provide configuration, programming and commissioning of the systems
- Troubleshooting of network and systems issues
- Enforce Apple's Data management and Governance policies
- Coordinate with internal IT teams to facilitate data exchange
- Provide training to Operations personnel
- Follow Industry and Apple's Safety requirements
Requirements For Operational Technology Engineer, Data Center
- 2+ years of experience with Data Center facility networks and Operational Technology (OT)
- Cyber Security for OT experience
- Experience with OT devices and management
- Deep understanding of OT Networks and proficiencies with communications protocols
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, or related field
