Responsibilities For Optical Illumination Engineer

  • Model and optimize the performance and appearance of various illumination systems involving LEDs, lenses, coatings, diffusers, and light guides
  • Communicate optical simulation results to the cross-functional team
  • Work with mechanical engineering and product design teams to address manufacturing and system integration constraints
  • Take designs into production and work with suppliers on prototypes
  • Troubleshoot issues by defining proper metrology, requesting and analyzing data
  • Characterize the optical behavior of materials, surfaces, and light sources
  • Evaluate the feasibility of new design concepts and new optical technologies

Requirements For Optical Illumination Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant field of study
  • 3 years of related work or academic experience
  • Experience in LightTools, FRED, SPEOS, or Zemax non-sequential
