Description For Optical Sensing ASIC Architect (EE)

Apple's Optical Sensing Hardware team is seeking an experienced ASIC Architect to join their innovative team developing next-generation Optical Sensing Technologies for various Apple products including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, audio accessories, and Mac. This role combines hardware engineering excellence with creative problem-solving to deliver the world's best user experience. As an ASIC Architect, you'll be responsible for developing custom mixed signal ICs for new Sensors and Sensing Systems. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, hands-on environment that drives engineering excellence and innovation. Responsibilities For Optical Sensing ASIC Architect (EE)

  • Work with optical/system team to architect and define electro-optical sensing systems
  • Define custom IC architecture, IC requirements, including detailed block diagrams and specifications
  • Perform ASIC system modeling with high level tools, determine verification plans
  • Review IC design/development process and test requirements with IC vendors
  • Support ASIC characterization/validation, system bring-up and integration
  • Conduct sensing system feasibility studies and system modeling
  • Proto-typing of proof of concept and function demonstration for roadmap development

Requirements For Optical Sensing ASIC Architect (EE)

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong electrical engineering background and hands-on experience in electrical design
  • Experience with analog/mixed signal IC design
  • Track record of successful IC architecture
  • Fundamental understanding of limitations and trade-offs of electrical circuits and semiconductor processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools
