Optical Sensing PD - Mechanical Engineer

The Optical Sensing Product Design team at Apple is seeking a mechanical engineer to develop sensors that change the way people interact with their technology. You will lead the end-to-end design, development, and validation of spectral sensing technology for Apple's products. Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward
• Designing optical modules and packaging
• Applying experiment design and scientific methods to reduce design risk
• Working with manufacturing partners on design manufacturability
• Supporting external vendors with process development and root cause analysis

You will work collaboratively with a talented multifunctional team to generate and validate design concepts, and be responsible for design, engineering analysis, and documentation for your part of the project. The role involves international travel between 10% and 25% of the time.
