Description For Power Control Systems Architect

We are seeking a highly motivated Power Control Systems Architect to contribute to the development of new power control systems at Apple. You will be responsible for designing and evolving the power control architecture deployed in Apple products to extend and improve battery life and user experience while meeting device power constraints. This work involves gathering and analyzing performance/power data from real-world workloads, cooperating with system and software teams to systematically characterize and analyze power/performance profiles, and evaluating power control algorithms based on gained insights.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and evolving power control architecture for Apple products
  • Analyzing performance/power data from real-world workloads
  • Collaborating with system and software teams
  • Evaluating power control algorithms

Qualifications:

  • BS with 10 years relevant industry experience or equivalent
  • 10 years experience programming with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, bash, and/or Python
  • 10 years experience with control system design (Classical and Modern Control Systems Theory, System Identification algorithms, Estimation Theory, Signal Processing)
  • Experience implementing Control Systems in Embedded Microcontroller environments

Preferred qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Innovative and critical system-level thinker with control system design and debug skills
  • Desire to bring data-driven decision-making and analytics to improve products
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly professional and collaborative
