Description For Privacy Controls & Build Automation Engineer

Join Apple's Sensing and Connectivity team as a Privacy Controls & Build Automation Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in creating and integrating technologies that enhance user experience. This role focuses on building tools to streamline privacy tooling and Continuous Integration pipeline. You'll be working with a talented team of engineers and scientists who deliver technologies for Location Services, Privacy and App Access Controls.

As a key contributor, you'll collaborate with multiple teams across Software during all development stages. Your primary focus will be on automating, scaling, and innovating development and privacy tools, while optimizing the integration process to maintain peak productivity. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with various engineering teams and directly impact software delivery quality and efficiency.

The role combines technical expertise in C/C++/Objective-C programming with system design and automation skills. You'll be responsible for developing daemons, building features for low-power devices, and creating automated tools for CI capabilities. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities For Privacy Controls & Build Automation Engineer

  • Produce unified solutions that scale and apply to many development teams
  • Develop daemons backing our APIs on multiple Apple platforms
  • Design and build features used by millions of users for small, low-power devices
  • Participate in and influence architecture and code reviews
  • Automate verification of source and build quality before integration
  • Work with cross-functional teams to solicit automation requirements
  • Write automated tools to facilitate and improve CI capabilities
  • Leverage CI functionality to deliver updates to Privacy Access Controls projects
  • Triage, prioritise, and react to events requiring configuration changes
  • Build tools to enhance bug tracking and code review integration

Requirements For Privacy Controls & Build Automation Engineer

Ruby
  • 2+ years of professional experience in C or C++ or Objective-C
  • Knowledge of iOS or macOS programming
  • Proficiency with Git version control
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent scripting skills, preferably in Ruby or Python
  • Broad experience in overall system design and implementation
  • Understanding of multi-threaded programming and synchronization
