Apple is seeking a Product Design Engineer - Pack to join their Hardware team. This role involves crafting creative battery solutions and owning module development from initial system architecture through ramp. Key responsibilities include:
- Brainstorming and implementing mechanical design concepts throughout the development cycle
- Generating innovative designs considering SPC and DFM
- Conducting dimensional and tolerance analyses
- Performing design reviews and driving file release process
- Assisting in manufacturing process development and fixturing
- Conducting design validation and characterization from prototype to MP testing
- Driving failure analyses and design of experiments (DOEs) to develop solutions
The ideal candidate will have strong technical, communication, and leadership skills, with experience in mechanical design engineering and the ability to lead end-to-end mechanical development and integration of innovative modules into next-generation Apple products.

Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., NX, Unigraphics UG, Solidworks, ProEngineer)
- Understanding of Tradeoff Analysis, Tolerance Loop Analysis, DOE, GD&T, SPC, or CP/CPK techniques
- Experience with precision parts and component design in high volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of DFM, DFA, statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- Consumer electronics experience preferred
- Assembly experience is a plus
- PCB/flex design, material science, and basic chemistry knowledge is beneficial
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
