Description For Reliability Engineer - Home

The Apple/Home Hardware Reliability Engineering team is seeking a System Reliability Engineer to work with their diverse Home engineering teams. This role focuses on ensuring and improving product durability and reliability throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to field returns. The position involves developing and implementing creative reliability tests, quantifying reliability risks, and supporting failure analysis.

As a System Reliability Engineer, you'll work closely with design engineering teams to identify and reduce high-risk failure modes early in the design process. You'll create innovative reliability tests based on physics of failure and user behavior, develop critical test equipment and specifications, and collaborate with vendors to meet testing deadlines. The role requires strong analytical skills for statistical data analysis and the ability to present findings to executive teams.

The ideal candidate should have experience with reliability testing, statistical analysis tools, and failure analysis techniques. They should be passionate about constant learning and innovative engineering products. Requirements For Reliability Engineer - Home

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Material Science Engineering and 3+ years of experience in a related field or industry
  • Experience performing reliability testing including mechanical stress tests, shock/drop/vibration testing, environmental testing
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, as needed
