The Transducer Engineering team pioneers novel speaker designs integrated into all Apple products.
As a Senior Acoustic Transducer Engineer, you will:
- Work with a passionate team to deliver the best possible audio experience
- Drive all aspects of transducer design and development
- Help manufacturing partners scale production and testing
- Perform linear and non-linear computer simulation of electromagnetic, acoustics, and structural mechanics
- Optimize custom transducer designs
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver extraordinary audio experiences
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop transducers for a wide range of speaker designs
- Use Finite Element Analysis software (COMSOL) for simulations
- Work with lumped-parameter simulation methods and tools
- Conduct Speaker LPM and nonlinear parameters measurements
- Use 3D solid modeling and meshing tools
- Collaborate with manufacturing suppliers on DFM from design to production
- Provide failure analysis of transducers throughout the development process
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Acoustics or equivalent field (physics, electrical or mechanical engineering)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Self-disciplined with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Willingness to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of transducer design experience
- Expertise in various speaker designs and understanding of design tradeoffs
- Experience with speaker components, materials, and assembly techniques
- Proficiency in COMSOL, MATLAB, Simulink, and Klippel systems
- Experience with 3D solid modeling and meshing tools
- Proven ability to work with manufacturing suppliers on DFM
- Demonstrated skill in transducer failure analysis
