Responsibilities For SoC Physical Design Engineer, PnR
- Working with logic design team to understand partition architecture
- Drive physical aspects early in the design cycle
- Complete netlist to GDS2 implementation for partition(s)
- Meet schedule and design goals
- Perform timing, physical and electrical verification
- Drive signoff closure for the partitions
- Resolve and improve design and flow issues
- Identify potential solutions and drive execution
Requirements For SoC Physical Design Engineer, PnR
- BS degree minimum
- Basic understanding of logic gates
- Knowledge of chip architecture
- Knowledge of back end chip design flow
- Knowledge of physical synthesis
- Knowledge of floor-planning
- Knowledge of place and route (PnR)
- Knowledge of power grid
- Knowledge of timing (STA)
- Knowledge of physical design verification (DRC/LVS)
- Knowledge of EMIR (Redhawk/Totem/Voltus)
