Join Apple's Silicon Engineering group as a SoC Power Validation Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of revolutionary hardware development. As a member of the SoC power team, you'll be responsible for measuring and analyzing power dissipation in silicon for various workloads, such as video streaming and recording. Your work will directly impact power optimization efforts to achieve best-in-class power/performance ratios. The position requires close collaboration with design, architecture, systems, and software teams, making strong communication and teamwork skills essential.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking, as you'll be working with basic lab equipment, performing complex power calculations, and implementing improvements in power measurement infrastructure. Your expertise in C/Assembly programming will be crucial for developing and optimizing power-related solutions.

Responsibilities For SoC Power Validation Engineer

  • Measure silicon power dissipation of typical workloads and correlate measurements with simulation results
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, systems, and software teams
  • Perform silicon power measurements and correlate with simulations/projections
  • Work with multi-functional teams to enable use-case power measurements
  • Improve use-case energy efficiency through tuning of hardware and software settings
  • Improve power measurement infrastructure

Requirements For SoC Power Validation Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Expertise in C/Assembly programming and associated tool chains
  • Experience with basic lab equipment (multi-meter units, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of calculations for dynamic and static power in CMOS
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team
