Description For SoC Power Validation Engineer

Join Apple's Silicon Engineering group as a SoC Power Validation Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art ASICs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on power hardware validation and analysis of typical SoC workloads, directly impacting the power optimization efforts to achieve best-in-class power/performance ratios.

As a member of the SoC power team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, architecture, systems, and software teams. Your primary responsibilities will involve measuring silicon power dissipation of typical workloads, analyzing data, and correlating measurements with simulation results. You'll work on improving use-case energy efficiency through hardware and software optimization while also enhancing power measurement infrastructure.

The position requires strong technical expertise in C/Assembly programming, familiarity with laboratory equipment, and understanding of CMOS power calculations. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment, contributing to products that impact millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities For SoC Power Validation Engineer

  • Measure silicon power dissipation of typical workloads and correlate measurements with simulation results
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, systems, and software teams
  • Perform silicon power measurements and correlate with simulations/projections
  • Work with multi-functional teams to enable use-case power measurements
  • Improve use-case energy efficiency through tuning of hardware and software settings
  • Improve power measurement infrastructure

Requirements For SoC Power Validation Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Expertise in C/Assembly programming and associated tool chains
  • Experience with basic lab equipment (multi-meter units, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of calculations for dynamic and static power in CMOS
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team
