Description For SoC Product Engineering Program Manager

Apple, a global leader in technology innovation, is seeking a SoC Product Engineering Program Manager to join their Hardware team in driving the future of Apple Silicon. This role is crucial in the development of groundbreaking chips like the A18 Pro, M4 Pro/Max, and R1 SoCs, which power devices from iPhones to the new Apple Vision Pro.

The position requires a versatile professional who can navigate both technical and strategic aspects of SoC development. You'll work at the intersection of hardware and product development, collaborating with diverse teams including Platform, Systems architects, SoC productization, Systems and SW engineering, Operations, Finance, and Product Marketing.

As a Program Manager, you'll oversee the entire lifecycle of SoCs from concept to end-of-life (EOL). Your responsibilities will include driving SoC-to-product SKU planning across multiple product lines, managing cost updates, defining SoC bins, and maintaining roadmaps for executive leadership. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence Apple's future products through strategic decision-making and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities For SoC Product Engineering Program Manager

  • Drive convergence of SoC-to-product SKU planning across multiple lines of business
  • Initiate and maintain SoC cost update to aide product SKU decision
  • Define and manage SoC bins, considering product features, cost, and operational complexities
  • Chair SoC SKU review forums with cross functional leaders
  • Own and maintain SoC and product roadmap for Executive leadership
  • Facilitate decision making with relevant partners and drive open items to closure

Requirements For SoC Product Engineering Program Manager

  • BS in technical field +10 years relevant industry experience
  • Proven SoC product planning experience
  • Experience and/or knowledge in SoC test, assembly and supply chain
  • Ability to distill and summarize high-level trade-off analyses
  • Technical program management and organizational skills
  • Ability to comprehend large amount of technical data
  • Technical breadth and business acumen
  • Collaborative work style across different functional leadership
